Pre-Sessional English for University in the UK

Fully online pre-sessional English language and university preparation courses that can be taken from anywhere in the world.

• Course Length: 6, 12, 16 or 24 weeks.
• Online Live Lessons: 10 hours per week Monday to Friday.
• Self-Study: 10 hours per week independent online study.
• Assessment: Weekly assignments and progress tracking.
• Small Classes: Small class sizes for tailored support.

Delivered on behalf of university partners, in-country pre-sessional English language and university preparation courses are taken at select locations worldwide.

• Course Length: 5, 9 or 13 weeks.
  Note: The 13 week-course includes 4-week online intensive preparation course (entry level dependent).
• Self-Study: 10 hours per week independent online study.
• Assessment: Weekly assignments and progress tracking.
• Small Classes Option: Small class sizes for tailored support.
• Study Locations: On campus at select locations worldwide (as per partner university’s requirement).

Students will have

• Access to Microsoft Teams to share assignments, feedback, and materials.
• Opportunity for extended study with peers outside the classroom via Microsoft Teams.
• Access to Moodle where the course will be administered. Students will also have access to interactive elements
• within Moodle opportunities for additional self-study.
• Ongoing teacher and group feedback and assessment on performance.
• Access to recorded lessons in case of absence (recordings are not automatically available to students).

Online classes are delivered Monday to Friday in 120 minutes live lessons per day.

Lesson times are between 08:00 and 13:00 UK time. In-country Pre-Sessional English will include 3 hours per day of classes. Class times may vary depending on location and availability.

Our Pre-Sessional English course will improve your understanding and use of the English language and provide you with academic skills for university-level study. At the end of this course, you will have improved in the following areas:

Writing
You will write opinion essays on a variety of topics and develop writing process strategies to produce coherent texts.

Reading
You will demonstrate thorough reading comprehension using a variety of reading subskills and ability to think critically when responding to an assortment of texts.

Speaking
You will be able to express yourself effectively and have improved presentation skills.

Listening
Learners will develop effective listening strategies, comprehensive practice, and training of listening skills.

Digital Literacy
You will learn how to navigate digital tools such as a virtual learning campus and communicate with peers and teachers online.

Mediation
Learners will gain the ability to work collaboratively with peers, evaluate one’s work critically and engage actively in academic settings.
