What is the University of Roehampton known for?  

Previously, the University of Roehampton was known as four teacher training colleges, Whitelands College (1841); Digby Stuart (1874), Froebel College (1892); Southlands College (1970s). 

The four institutions merged in 1975 to form the Roehampton Institute of Higher Education, which was renamed the University of Roehampton in 2011. 

As a result of its history, teacher education remains a key strength of the University, but it is also highly regarded in programmes such as Dance, Biological Anthropology, Drama, and English Literature.
