  • Course Length: 6, 12, 16 or 24 weeks.

Students will have

  • Access to Microsoft Teams to share assignments, feedback, and materials.
  • Opportunity for extended study with peers outside the classroom via Microsoft Teams.
  • Access to Moodle where the course will be administered. Students will also have access to interactive elements
  • within Moodle opportunities for additional self-study.
  • Ongoing teacher and group feedback and assessment on performance.
  • Access to recorded lessons in case of absence (recordings are not automatically available to students).

Online classes are delivered Monday to Friday in 120 minutes live lessons per day.

Lesson times are between 08:00 and 13:00 UK time. In-country Pre-Sessional English will include 3 hours per day of classes. Class times may vary depending on location and availability.

Our Pre-Sessional English course will improve your understanding and use of the English language and provide you with academic skills for university-level study. At the end of this course, you will have improved in the following areas:

Writing
You will write opinion essays on a variety of topics and develop writing process strategies to produce coherent texts.

Reading
You will demonstrate thorough reading comprehension using a variety of reading subskills and ability to think critically when responding to an assortment of texts.

Speaking
You will be able to express yourself effectively and have improved presentation skills.

Listening
Learners will develop effective listening strategies, comprehensive practice, and training of listening skills.

Digital Literacy
You will learn how to navigate digital tools such as a virtual learning campus and communicate with peers and teachers online.

Mediation
Learners will gain the ability to work collaboratively with peers, evaluate one’s work critically and engage actively in academic settings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Once you have applied and paid for your course, you’ll receive a welcome letter telling you we have received your application.

Closer to your course start date, you’ll receive a welcome pack from us containing details of your course, class times, assessment criteria and clear technical instructions for how to join your class.

The course has three key components: Live lessons with a qualified teacher; an extended study component which is an opportunity to work with your classmates on homework or collaborative tasks. You will also need to spend some time studying independently and preparing for your lessons.

We keep our classes small, so you get the attention you deserve. You will usually study with 12-16 people in the live lessons.

You will need to download Zoom and Microsoft Teams. You will also get access to Moodle with additional learning resources.

You’ll have one 120-minute live lesson per day from Monday to Friday. You will also be expected to complete additional tasks and study projects. Overall, you can expect to spend about 2 hours on extended study and self-study.

You will be required to complete a marked assignment every week. There will on regular assessment throughout the course and at the end of course. Both types of assessment will count towards your final grade.
