We are proud to announce that the Oxford ELLT Spotlight Test has been officially endorsed by NEAS (National ELT Accreditation Scheme) as a quality product and service under Quality Area K: Products and Services. This marks another significant milestone for the Oxford International Digital Institute (OIDI), following the earlier endorsement of the Oxford ELLT Language Level Test earlier this year.
The NEAS Endorsement Committee has recognised the Spotlight Test for its academic rigour, innovation, and responsiveness to the evolving needs of learners, institutions, and the broader English language teaching (ELT) sector.
A quality-centric, research-led assessment
The Oxford ELLT Spotlight Test is a CEFR-aligned English language placement test developed through extensive research and consultation with international stakeholders. It assesses six key language skills, with optional modules offering deeper insights into productive language use. Designed to be adaptable and fully digital, the test ensures fairness and validity through robust moderation, standardised rubrics, and continuous quality review processes.

According to NEAS, Oxford ELLT Spotlight demonstrates:
- Strong alignment with global standards, ensuring academic integrity and accessibility
- User-friendly design, including asynchronous speaking assessment and visual prompts
- Scalability and speed, with automated scoring, fast turnaround times, and customisable components
- Innovative features, making the test flexible for a wide range of educational contexts
- Built-in feedback mechanisms, supporting continuous improvement and responsiveness to stakeholder input
- The test’s strong value proposition at an accessible price point was also recognised, along with its active incorporation of learner and educator feedback into ongoing updates.
