What is a Pre Master’s?

What is a Pre Master’s?

If you are a student hoping to eventually complete a Master’s degree in the UK, now is the time to start thinking about your preparations. An online pre Master course is undoubtedly one of the best solutions for an international student. But What is a Pre Master? And How can a pre master’s course help you ahead of your Level 7 education? Here’s everything you need to know.

What is a Pre Master?

The pre master’s is an online course aimed to help international students bridge the gap between an undergraduate degree and studying for a Master’s in the UK. With many continuation Master’s courses and universities to choose from, our online pathway can be completed over one or two terms.
Our specialised course helps the business leaders of the future to attain their postgraduate qualifications in Business and Management. Our pre master’s course will equip you with the independent and team study skills required for success in your master’s, develop your knowledge of the business industry and ensure you have the appropriate level of English for your postgraduate education.
Successful completion of our pre master’s can lead to entry into postgraduate study at UK universities including Coventry University, University of Dundee, University of Roehampton (London), UWE (Bristol) and many more.
A pre master or pre MBA can, therefore, be used as the perfect way to gain the extra credentials to gain acceptance onto the Master’s degree that you’ve found. Alternatively, it can help you prepare for a Master’s in the UK by completing an intensive course in the English language while still taking things at your pace.
Whether looking to step into Business & Management or a related field, the pre master’s program is a fantastic introduction to postgraduate level learning through a combination of live lessons and directed learning.

How long is a pre master’s course?

Our pre master’s course can be taken over one or two terms depending on your educational background and current language level. A one-term course takes place over 12 weeks and covers three modules. Our two-term course takes place over 24 weeks and covers six modules. Your course will also equip you with the English language tuition to confidently enter your Level 7/postgraduate studies.

What are the Entry Requirements for a Pre Master?

Given that the pre master’s program is designed to help international students prepare for life as an MA or MBA student in the UK, there are two components to consider – the academic requirements, and the English language requirements.
The pre master is designed to actively help you prepare for Master’s education and the course organisers believe in accepting students capable of reaching the study level. As such, we recommend you have completed an undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification/experience.
For a single-term course, the degree you’ve passed must be related to business. A two-term pre Master’s is open to candidates who did not take a business degree – as long as they have 60 credits at Level 6.
As for the English language requirements, the English Language Level Test (ELLT) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) will be used. For a single-term course, a 6.0 score will be needed. The required score is reduced to 5.5 when applying for a two-term course. We can also help you reach the language level requirement for your pre master course with our range of pre-sessional English language courses.
