Online Pre-Sessional English

Our Online Pre-Sessional English courses build the English language and academic skillsets required for college-level study. These programs help students strengthen their English skills and build the foundations for success at college.

Course outcomes

Our Online Pre-Sessional English course will improve students’ understanding and use of the English language and academic skills for university-level study. At the end of the course student will have demonstrated improvement in the following areas:

Writing

Write opinion essays on a variety of topics and develop writing process strategies to produce coherent texts.

Reading

Demonstrate a thorough reading comprehension using a variety of reading subskills and the ability to think critically when responding to a variety of texts.

Speaking

Express oneself effectively and improve presentation skills.

Listening

Have a greater understanding of vocabulary and be able to actively follow listening input and take notes.

Digital Literacy

Know how to navigate digital tools such as a VLE and communicate with peers and teachers online.

Collaboration

Gain the ability to work collaboratively with peers, evaluate one’s work critically and engage actively in academic settings.

Course structure

The Online Pre-Sessional English course improves your students’ English level for entry into a career college in Canada.

Over 6 weeks you will develop either language and academic skills for entry into your chosen degree.

The 6-week Pre-Sessional English course increases your IELTS level by 0.5.
