Strengthening Partnerships in Wales
At the end of September, Nathan Bowes, Partnerships Manager, had the pleasure of visiting two of our valued Welsh university partners: Bangor University and Aberystwyth University. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect face-to-face, share insights, and explore how we can continue to support international student recruitment and success.
Both visits highlighted the strong collaboration already in place and the shared commitment to widening access for international students. Discussions with international teams focused on supporting pathways into higher education, leveraging our Oxford ELLT English testing solutions, and maximising the impact of our pre-sessional provision to ensure students from around the world are fully prepared to thrive academically.
We also explored ways to strengthen strategic alignment, deepen regional engagement, and continue delivering flexible, high-quality solutions that support the institutions’ international objectives.
These visits reinforced the value of close collaboration with our university partners and the positive impact it has on students’ journeys into higher education. It was inspiring to hear how close-knit the higher education community in this part of the UK is. Just the following week, Universities Wales announced that they will not introduce the proposed international student levy — a brilliant outcome for our partner institutions and for international students considering study in the region.
We look forward to building on these conversations in 2026 and continuing to support our partners across Wales.

Attending ENIC UK next week? Come and say hello!
As we move ahead into the next recruitment cycle (already, it feels like the September cohorts have only just wrapped up). We’re delighted to be planning to be attending some in-person sector events before year-end as we prepare to embark on 2026.
We’ll be exhibiting at the UK ENIC Annual Conference 2025, 1-2 December in London, next week. If you’re attending, visit us at Booth #INSERT.
We’re also expecting to be present at several events early next year, so keep an eye out on our socials to see where we’ll be… as it would be great to catch up and discuss all things international education with you!
