While studying with us
As a current student of OI Digital Institute, you can access useful information below that will help you to get started and stay on track.
Useful information to support you while studying with us.
Below you will find useful information to get you started and understand the requirements of your online course. As an OI Digital Institute student, you are able to connect with our support staff and teachers to keep you on track of your studies.
During your sessions we also encourage you to ask questions, share your ideas and discuss these thoughts with your teachers.
When you enrol with the OI Digital Institute, you become a part of our online international community. All students on our adult courses are issued with Oxford International email addresses – this gives you access to Microsoft Teams and the online Office 365 Suite. Your email address will be used to communicate with your teacher and other students throughout your course. All this information will be sent to you in a welcome pack before your start your course.
For many of our courses you will need to access our Virtual Learning Campus. You will receive a log in for this within your welcome pack, along with instructions on how to access any pre-course material. The VLC also allows tutors to set additional self-study exercises to boost your language skills outside of your course.
We are proud of the personal learning experience that all our students receive within our Digital Institute. This includes the attention they get from our tutors throughout their course. Through webmail, Microsoft Teams, or the Virtual Learning Campus, there are several ways to reach out to your teacher and fellow students. Most of our courses contain individual tutorials, and teachers set additional work to build confidence.
For all our courses, we recommend students join on either a laptop or desktop to make the most of their learning, however you can also join via a mobile or tablet. All of our learning platforms are accessible from a browser. You must have a good internet connection, along with a webcam and microphone for any live lessons.
In your welcome pack you will receive email addresses to contact for support. For technical and administrative areas, you will have a contact within the OI Digital Institute who will support you throughout the duration of your course, along with an academic contact who will oversee the programme itself.
Ensuring that you enjoy your experience as a student is an important part of what we do here at OI Digital Institute. We would love to hear your story as an existing student and find ways to continue to improve and offer excellence. You can share your experience with us using this link.
