Course Structure & Dates

This is a 7.5-hour course that will allow you to familiarise yourself with the format of the Occupational English Test. Each 90-minute session will focus on one section/paper – reading, writing, listening or speaking – with a final Q&A and feedback session.

In addition, course participants can submit a mock writing task and receive individual written feedback and are provided with suggestions for independent study.

Over four 90 minute sessions you will become familiar with the OET and cover:

Session 1

  • Brief course introduction
  • The speaking paper – what it is, how it is assessed, how to tackle it

Session 2

  • The writing paper – what it is, how it is assessed, how to tackle it
  • Homework – mock writing task

Session 3

  • The reading paper – the 3 parts of the reading exam, what is tested in each part, strategies for tackling the tasks

Session 4

  • The listening paper – the 3 parts of the listening exam, what is tested in each part, strategies for tackling the tasks

OET Preparation Course Details

Prepare to take your OET by quickly developing your reading, writing, listening and speaking skills as well as working on strategies to help you better tackle different parts of the exam. Once you’ve completed 25 hours of study you can be confident you’ve done the preparation you need to succeed in your OET

Choose the option that works best for you. You can either study the whole course in 1 week or you can choose to spread your study time over 2 or 4 weeks. This way, you can still feel well-prepared while fitting in your studies around your normal schedule.

You will study from Monday to Thursday between 09:00 and 14:00 UK time

You are a doctor or medical professional looking to work abroad in English speaking environments. You may have studied or worked in a non-English speaking environment and looking to enter employment in an English speaking facility.

No, we do not directly run the Occupational English Test. The test needs to be conducted at an OET Test Centre, however, we can work with you to book your test in an examination centre near you.
