This course includes:

✔️ In this course, you’ll take part in theoretical and practical workshops relevant to the teaching of the English Language.

✔️ Each workshop lasts 90 minutes and you can choose from the full 4 module course or if you only have one specific area to improve, you can select one 6 hour module to upskill in the desired skillset.

✔️ 90-minute live session delivered on Saturday between 09:30 and 11:00 am UK Time

  • Study 100% online - all teaching sessions are conducted entirely online and live sessions are taught via video chat
  • Utilise flexible options that work for you with options to study out of hours - weekend study available on Saturdays
  • Study a 6 hour module in 4 weeks in classes lasting 90 minutes

Course Details:

Our full teacher training short course includes 4 modules you can study to develop your teaching skills and knowledge:

Module 1 – Foundation module
You’ll study outcomes that matter for learning, how to manage your classroom, transitioning between online and face-to-face teaching and how to disconnect to do more in a connected world.

Module 2 – Teaching Systems
This module focuses on teaching English. Topics include grammar, how to maximise your students’ lexical repertoire, pronunciation and feedback techniques.

Module 3 – Teaching Skills
In this module, you’ll study active listening, how to help your students read more effectively, and how to write collaboratively.

Module 4 – ESL Buzzwords
Topics in this module include how to keep students of different levels engaged in the same class, how to incorporate critical thinking into your lessons and mediation, which is what the CEFR calls the 5th language skill. You’ll also be able to engage with peers on the topic of reflection, burn out and continuing professional development options.

Delivered completely online – all teaching sessions are conducted entirely online and live sessions are taught via video chat

You’ll receive a certificate when you complete your chosen module as evidence of your continuing professional development.
